.PRO Announces The Best of .PRO Contest
.PRO registry promotes increase in the use of .PRO and exceptional professional content with a contest to crown the best .PRO Web site on the Internet.
CHICAGO, Illinois, April 21, 2009 — RegistryPro, the exclusive operator of the .PRO top-level domain (TLD) on the Internet, announced today the upcoming launch of The Best of .PRO, a promotion designed to highlight the rich content that has been developed since the TLD expanded eligibility in September 2008.
“In the last seven months, we’ve seen a tremendous increase in the total number of registered .PRO names,” said Catherine Sigmar, general manager of RegistryPro. “Not surprisingly, the business and service professionals who have chosen .PRO have developed unique and valuable content. It’s clear to us that professionals internationally are seeing the value in publishing content using .PRO as their primary Internet address.”
In September 2008, .PRO significantly expanded its eligibility requirements to include business and service professionals and professional entities.
“We’ve gone from serving four professions in four counties to serving all professions in all countries,” Sigmar continued. “We’ve seen some truly great content emerge in recent months, and we intend to help promote that content. Starting May 1st, we invite registrants along with the public to nominate their choice for The Best of .PRO.”
